SCDI will be represented at the annual gathering of policy makers in Almedalen Sweden. The session will be on the finance function of the future, where a new role is called for in light of digitalization. Research conducted at SCDI identifies governance and control as the main obstacle to continued digitalization, and this puts a significant light on the role of management accounting. The challenge of digitalization for the finance function does not lie in the automation of financial accounting, but in the fundamental changes in models and frameworks for management control. The finance function needs to take charge and drive the change in models, if the rest of the organization is going to have a chance at accelerated digitalization.
The seminar will include a keynote by SCDI faculty, followed by a moderated panel with Anna Eriksson (GD Digg), Åsa Zetterberg (Director, IT&Telecom), Jens Otterdahl Holm (Director of accounting, Varberg municipality) and Mica Wulff Kamm (business developer, Visma).
